What To Do In Hackney

Before you agree to buy or rent a property via a Hackney estate agents, you need to get to know the local area properly first – or you could find yourself living somewhere you don’t like and where you feel you don’t really fit in.

Hackney is certainly a very interesting place to consider relocating to and you’ll find an awful lot on your doorstep if you do decide this is the place for you. There’s Broadway Market, for example, the perfect place to go at the weekend for vintage clothes, amazing street food, fresh produce and a whole lot more.

Or what about the Hackney Empire, which puts all sorts of exciting events on throughout the year. There’s certainly no excuse for being bored here! It was built in 1901 and the likes of Charlie Chaplin and Stan Laurel have all played here, so you’ll be in excellent company indeed.

And for a great family day out, you simply must make your way over to Hackney City Farm. Entry is free and you’ll have the perfect opportunity to get up close and personal with all sorts of lovely farmyard animals, as well as learning new skills to live a healthier life with a lower environmental impact.

If you feel like being active, there’s the London Fields Lido, a 50m Olympic-sized heated outdoor swimming pool that’s open all year round. Lane swimming is available all day, with a cafe nearby and a big sundeck and sunbathing area… if we ever see the sun again, of course!
